Bylaws-Rules of Play


  1. Each team must provide an umpire unless other arrangements have been made, $100 fine payable to the league (forwarded to team).
  2. A grace period of 30 minutes will be allowed if a team is short players or if they failed to find an umpire.  After 30 minutes the game shall be declared a forfeit.  A fine of $100 will be paid by the forfeiting team to the league, the league then forwards the fine to the opposing team.
  3. All players must play in four scheduled league games (Northwood’s Rule) to be eligible for postseason play.  Forfeits will count as an eligible game for all non-forfeiting teams’ players only.  Should a forfeit occur after the start of a game, the game will count for all players present for both teams.  Managers must agree upon and list all players present on that games scorebook to be eligible.
  4. Players with questionable eligibility must submit a player questionnaire to the league and it must be approved by the MBA before playing in a league game.  Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of all the games the player participated in.
  5. The radius requirements for all players will be calculated by GPS visualizer.  The radius was set at 30 miles from players’ residence to the ballpark address (MBA November 2008).
  6. Releases and new contracts must be turned into the LEAGUE SECRETARY ONLY before that player can participate in any league game.  New contracts/releases that are texted and confirmed in picture form, must be sent or postmarked in pdf/hardcopy within 7 days to the league secretary.  Failure to comply results in forfeit of all games that player played in and an $80 fine per forfeit.
  7. Official Resorters League Baseball is Rawlings FSRMBA for 2017-19.
  8. Any player, manager or coach ejected from the game must leave the ballpark immediately.  He will also be subject to a minimum one game suspension and will not be allowed to attend or even enter the ballpark during his suspension.
  9. Physical or verbal assault is not acceptable by any player, manager or coach.  The penalty for such assault will be determined through a meeting of league officials and involved parties.  Maximum penalty is a 13 month suspension.
  10. Pro-slide rule will be used at all bases.  Catcher may not interfere with the baserunner without the baseball and the baserunner must slide. 
  11. A fine of $50 will be assessed for any team not attending league meetings to be put toward pizza at a meeting.
  12. No regular season games are to be played after the last schedule make-up date.
  13. Players cannot ump games for any team in the division that they play.
  14. Attendance at the year-end roster meeting is mandatory, failure to attend will result in a forfeiture of any postseason play.
  15. Tiebreakers determining seeding’s:  #1=head to head, #2=division record, #3=total runs head-to-head, #4=coin flip.
  16. All teams must have two contact phone #’s in the event of weather.  If contact has not been successful, the visiting team needs to verify with another team if that contact was not successful.  If verified, the home team would need to travel to the visitor’s field for the makeup game.  
  17. Home team is responsible for updating scores on www.scoremonster.com
  18. The website being used by the MBA is www.scoremonster.com, all teams must have their schedules listed with the website and the rosters updated to be eligible for postseason.
